This outdoor vegetable garden was designed and constructed within a private villa in Athens. The particularity of this project emerged from the need to transform a simple, makeshift plot into a garden that promotes optimal vegetation growth, maximizes cultivation efficiency, and enhances the aesthetic feel at the same time. Small and careful interventions were made with facilitating the growers’ work and making their experience more rewarding in mind.
The independent, coated wooden boxes provide both optimal growing conditions and easy access to the vegetation. Iroko wood was chosen for character and durability, while stones appropriate for soil protection, insulation, and aeration were placed around the wooden structures. Bega outdoor lighting was installed in order to illuminate both the paths and the vegetation.
